Sub-Sea TV

"WET" TV PROGRAMS FOR SCUBA DIVERS AND THOSE WHO LOVE THE WATER

Your guide to Scuba TV programs for underwater and scuba diving enthusiasts, and dive travelers. Please check your local listings for program verification. Networks often change their lineup. All times are Eastern.

We are often asked what criteria we use to select our programs.  With the exception of all forms of diving, which are ALWAYS included, we look for alternate programs that divers might be interested in.  As always, look for great programming on your local PBS stations, too numerous to list.

Network abbreviations are as follows; you can visit their web sites with your comments, or check for last-minute changes. While you are at their sites, send an e-mail to tell them you like their water-oriented programs.  Many programs are scheduled in the early morning -- Time to dust off the VCR!

Lost Treasure Ship Found: Vrouw Maria (HC)
No tale inspires shipwreck hunters more than rumor of priceless treasure lying on the bottom of the sea. Such ships have been found, but few as unique as the 1999 discovery of the Vrouw Maria. Caught in a storm in October 1771, the two-masted merchant vessel, en route to St. Petersburg from Amsterdam, struck a rock and sank along with her cargo of fine Dutch art for Russian aristocrats. For nearly 230 years the vessel lay undisturbed on the seabed with little decay due to the Baltic's brackish nature.
